Carb Day is the Friday before the race, the final practice session and the last time the field turns a lap before Sunday. It is also the Speedway at its rowdiest. Watch the Pit Stop Challenge, where crews go head to head for the fastest stop, and the Wienie 500, the lighthearted dash that has become part of Carb Day tradition.

Spend Saturday inside the Speedway.
Legends Day is the day before the race, when the whole Speedway comes alive. Witness the rookie chat, the full field of driver autographs, vintage car laps, and the drivers meeting. Tour Gasoline Alley and watch the teams prepare for the 500.
Legends Day guests have access throughout Saturday to a climate-controlled Racing Passport hospitality suite at Pagoda Plaza, with a buffet luncheon of entrées, salad, desserts, and beverages.

The Indianapolis 500 is the largest single-day sporting event in the world, the Speedway holds around 400,000 people. It runs every year over Memorial Day weekend at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The first "500" was held at the Speedway on Memorial Day, May 30, 1911. More than 82,000 spectators came, and admission was one dollar.
One of the race's most famous traditions is the winner drinking a bottle of milk in victory lane. It began in 1936, when winner Louis Meyer asked for a glass of buttermilk.
More than a century of champions, every one of them having beaten every driver who tried before. In 2027, the 111th running writes the next chapter.
